God Provides

Immediately after we decided to step out in faith and pursue adoption now, even though we do not have the money necessary, God strengthened our faith that He will provide what is needed to complete what he has called us to. I think it was only a day after we decided to start adoption that our neighbor knocked on our door and dropped of $12 cash in an envelope. She had found it on a run nearly a month ago and thought, "I should give this to Joseph and Heidi." So, she hung on to it for a month, accidentally put it through the wash, but eventually made it over to our door, cash in hand. Even though it was only $12, it was hugely encouraging. It showed us that God can provide through very unexpected means and that all money really is His to do what He wants with it - and that $12 paid for one of our background reports.

A month later, we received an anonymous donation from someone in our hometown. It was enough to cover the hundreds of dollars of application fees we had to pay for our international agency and our home study agency.

When we returned from Christmas travels, we received a completely unexpected check from interest earned on an investment in 2010. It will be nearly enough to cover our $1,000 home study fee that will be due in the next two weeks.

All I can do is smile and laugh at my lack of faith and just how good God is. I'm almost giddy thinking about the unexpected ways He will provide money necessary to complete this adoption.

Faith is the evidence of things not seen. Faith obeys, even when we don't see the how, where, or why.

We are adopting through AWAA

We are adopting through AWAA (Ethiopia) as well. Just saw your blog address via the yahoo group. Love these kind of testimony stories. Its good to know we aren't the only ones who are on this journey COMPLETELY by faith!

What a blessing to you guys!

What a blessing to you guys! What a joy to see God at work in things that often seem trivial!
