Here We Go Again!

Over the last year and a half, we've gone through a lot of changes: adopting Tate, moving to indianapolis, beginning ClearNote Church, buying a house. Changes have been good and we have grown much individually and as a family. As we begin our second year in Indianapolis and church planting, we are also beginning a second adoption journey!
We are requesting one or two babies, under the age of two, which means we will most likely be referred an infant boy. Tate keeps saying he wants two babies, one of each, so we'll see what God does. The only way we would be referred two is if there are extremely close siblings or twins.
While it seems that a second adoption should go faster, that just isn't the case. It may go faster, but it may go slower. We have to redo all our paperwork (dossier) and, since we have moved, that means a new social worker and brand new home study. A home study is a licensed social worker's report on your family, family history, and home. One advantage of having done this before is that we are familiar with what paperwork is needed and can get cracking on it. We are almost done with our home study and then we'll submit our first immigration form (i600a), wait for them to send another form back (i171h), and we'll be done with paperwork! This will hopefully happen sometime in February, but we shall see.
I love that we can look back at Tate's adoption and see glimpses of how God was working out timing - from a woman being burdened to pray during the month following Tate's birth to working out travel timing. We've also seen it already in this decision to start adoption again.
